Rated 1 out of 5 by from same inexcusable issues as last year's model :( I returned the 2016 LG 49UH6090 before the return privilege ran out, for this 2017 LG 49UJ6300. I liked the 6090's picture (despite the imperfect background illumination uniformity), but could not stand the lousy cheap remote and user interface, and had read that Web_OS 3.5 (last year's model had ver 3.0) was improved, especially the new remote with its ergonomic button layout that could be used reliably without having to look at the buttons. Well, this unit has the same lousy cheap remote and user interface that wastes my time every time I want to change a color setting or switch between the set's tuner and an HDMI input (because FLASHBACK only works between tuner channels, not between inputs, plus the input selection menu is poorly implemented, with its slow appearance and required extra keypress to skip past the stupid exit-this-menu default selection). Even worse, the cheaper-than-last-year's legs are spaced much wider than last year's model, which sat very comfortably on my 36" wide stand. This year's model requires a minimum of a 41" wide stand. oops :( So to me this set seems like a big step backwards. While I did find one stupid bug that's been fixed compared to last year's model (pressing OK while in Picture Mode no longer de-selects the current mode and selects another), this year's model has caused a new physical problem (it won't sit level on the 36" wide stand), after I was willing to spend 35% more just for a better remote and user interface, but -- oops -- this set has neither. ...and it continues to boggle my mind why any device so powerful that the firmware Update is over 3/4 of a gigabyte provides user menus that sometimes take seconds to appear (while a series of dots chase their tail -- and my set is not connected to the internet nor are auto-updates enabled or anything like that). this set is stand-alone, and should not have a sluggish user interface. My IDTV of the late 1980s, with the ability to freeze, store, and recall a video frame, was never so sluggish... I see this is another example of how improvements in technology have benefited corporations more than consumers... :( [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a tv for dark movies and games, I returned this TV after 6 days of use because I could not see any details on my dark 4K movies as well as the 4K video games. Screens that are bright and colorful did look relatively clear for a 4K screen but the black rendering is terrible. This would make a great extra large computer screen or a menu possibly a sales display screen for a business as long as your ad is composed of bright colors. All of the dark areas look like faded out Gray and makes the screen look really muddy despite the 4K resolution. I gave them a shot but not for me with my useage intents and purposes. You get what you pay for... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
