    1. Not the longevity expected for a $1000 DW
      By DW on 2/19/12
      Overall Rating

We bought a top of the line similar model of LG dishwasher in June 2006. It worked OK but did not get the dishes as clean as our old Whirlpool until we switched to using the detergent packets with the red cleaning ball. This dw is much quieter than the old Whirlpool but it was 25 years old.

Conns brought it out & installed it. The water wouldn't drain, so they brought another one. Again errors msgs & the water wouldn't drain, so they brought a 3rd dw. This is the one we currently have, it has worked OK since then except a couple of error msgs which we looked up on the internet. The drain hose was getting crimped by the dw when it was pushed back under the cabinet. Problem solved for now.

Next issue, the top rack has completely stopped washing. We can only wash dishes in the bottom rack & even then they do not get very clean. We have not made a service call because where we live in rural & they will never get here, plus now that the machine is out of warranty, it will probably not be cost effective anyway.

There are only 2 of us & we normally wash about 1 load per week so this dw has not been overworked. We are looking at new dw but will not buy another LG.

BTW we also have an LG refrigerator we bought at the same time from Conns. It has worked fine up until a couple of months ago when the front panel stopped working. After researching on the internet & a call to LG customer service, we had to shut the power off at the breaker to reset the panel. This was easier than moving it out to unplug it. We have had to do this twice now.

We had been pleased with LG products until about a year ago. I doubt we buy any more at least for the kitchen.

    2. Owned LG for 2 years, 3 months
      By Bob on 11/30/10
      Overall Rating

Totally unacceptable -- in the time of ownership, it has been out of service for more than six months awaiting parts. Never the same problem. The latest failures involved multiple parts including drain hose, control board, inlet valve, and several other items. The company totally failed to stand behind their product. I will never purchase another LG product.

In fairness, my daughter has exactly the same dishwasher and has had no problems at all. Therefore, my rating is based on the failures we have experienced combined with the company's lack of responsiveness to a particular machine's sequence of failures.

    3. Disappointed
      By W on 7/27/10
      Overall Rating

We purchased this DW in Dec 2009 and really wanted a quiet machine...salwman compared dB between Whirlpool and LG stainless models...and LG won because it had the best quiet rating...the machine was installed and the tech used round head srews to attach to the counter top and within a few days scratches appeared on the control panel because the screws protruded too far...the machine was replaced and I insisted they use flat head screws and that has worked perfectly...today we got an error message E1 and cannot tell from searching the internet what that message means...I have seen several reasons in all directions...I'm afraid that when I call for service they'll be shooting in the dark about how to fix the problem...However, we have been thoroughly pleased with the wash results and the QUIETness of it...
